Xiaomi's Mi 11 Pro could be the first phone with 80W wireless charging
What you need to know
- A new rumor claims Xiaomi's Mi 11 Pro will support 80W wireless charging speeds.
- It may also support identical 120W wired fast charging as last year's Mi 10 Ultra.
- The phone is expected to debut in China next month.
Xiaomi, which unveiled the first Snapdragon 888-powered flagship phone last month, is expected to introduce another flagship device very soon. According to a new post on Weibo by Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will be the first phone to support 80W wireless charging speeds (via GSMArena).
Xiaomi's 80W wireless fast charger, which was revealed by the company in October last year, can fully charge a 4000mAh battery in just 19 minutes. Currently, the fastest wireless charging phones are Xiaomi's Mi 10 Ultra and Mi 11.
In addition to 80W wireless charging, the Mi 11 Pro is also expected to support 120W wired charging – just like the Mi 10 Ultra. The vanilla Mi 11 "only" supports up to 55W wired charging.
In the camera department, rumors suggest the Mi 11 Pro will have a quad-camera setup at the rear, with a periscope zoom lens offering 10x optical zoom. The rest of its specs sheet, however, is expected to be identical to the Mi 11. With a capable camera setup, powerful hardware, and 80W wireless charging, the Mi 11 Pro could be one of the best Android phones of the year.
