Which Galaxy Note 9 color should you buy?
The Galaxy Note 9 comes in several different color options, with varying availability depending on where you're buying the phone. The hardware is beautiful no matter the color, but with a nice variety of choices it can be a good reflection of your personality and style. Here are all the colors the Note 9 is available in, and what you need to keep in mind when picking the right one for you.
The standard
The ocean blue Galaxy Note 9 seems to be Samsung's favorite, given that it's the one being displayed in all of the company's ads, and who can blame them? It's a deep blue finish with a contrasting yellow S Pen that gives the whole phone a unique, eye-catching look. But if you're looking to stand out, you'll want to get something else — this is probably the best-selling color.
Stand out
Lavender is a lighter shade of purple than the lilac purple used on the Galaxy S9 and S9+, though it's just as gorgeous as ever. It can get a bit lighter or darker depending on the way the light hits it, and the metal frame matches the finish. There are plenty of blue phones elsewhere, but you won't find many purple ones. Lavender Purple isn't always discounted the same as the other colors, so double check you're getting a good price before you buy.
Stealthy
These flashier colors are nice, but it's hard to argue with a stealthy all-black finish. The midnight black Galaxy Note 9 looks just like every other black Samsung phone in recent years — the pitch black glass back and metal frame match the display perfectly to create an ultra-sleek look that is undoubtedly a popular finish and can be spruced up with a colorful case later on if you desire.
Unlocked exclusive
Cloud Silver is the most eye-catching of the group, with its mixture of silver and light blue colors that shift and change depending how the light hits the metal and glass. It's also exclusively an unlocked model, so you won't find it from any carrier — and you aren't likely to see many out in the wild, either. If you're looking for something a little different and exclusive, here's the pick for you.
Import only
You may have heard of this "Metallic Copper" color or seen renders of it online ... but you won't find it in any U.S. stores, because it's not available here. In order to get this stunning shiny copper finish, you need to import an international model. You won't get a warranty, but you'll get a truly unique color and probably save some money in the process. Just be sure to check the network bands of the model you import to make sure it matches your carrier.
Samsung's one of the best companies when it comes to offering multiple colors of its flagships, and in recent years it's done really well to bring multiple colors to most colors with fewer exclusive offerings. That means here in the U.S. you have no fewer than four colors to choose from, and a couple more if you're planning to import an international model. That's a great problem to have. The Cloud Silver is definitely appealing, but the other options are great as well.
