Sharp Aquos Crystal available today from Boost Mobile, hitting Sprint October 17
The stunning Sharp Aquos Crystal is now available on Boost Mobile and is coming to Sprint next week. The phone brings the thinnest bezels we've ever seen, with the display running practically right up to the edge on the sides and top, with a larger bezel at the bottom to host things like the front-facing camera. It was announced back in August, and today can be had for $149.99 from Sprint MVNO Boost Mobile, as well as on Sprint Prepaid through Best Buy.
The roll-out of the Aquos Crystal on the Sprint network will be staggered. You can get it today from Boost Mobile and from Best Buy on Sprint Prepaid. But if you want to go with a post-paid Sprint plan, you'll have to wait until Friday, October 17th, though you'll be able to get the phone for $0 down and pay it off at $10-a-month over 24 months. If you'd prefer to buy on Sprint Prepaid but from Radio Shack, it'll be available starting on October 21st. Off contract pricing is looking at $239.99.
Those ridiculous bezels are framing a 5-inch 720p display, over a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB for storage. It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat, sports a 2040mAh battery, and has 8-megapixel and 1.2-megapixels cameras on the back and front, respectively. Audio is said to see an improvement thanks to a boost from Harman Clari-Fi.
The Sharp Aquos Crystal is still a visually-stunning phone, but once you get down into the specs it's not terribly exciting. But it doesn't have to be — it's a decent mid-ranger with a design that makes the heart skip a beat. And soon you'll be able to get it on Sprint.
