We reviewed the FireCuda 510 back in June and gave it 4.5 stars out of 5 and a The Best badge. Our review said, "The FireCuda 510 is an excellent choice. Even comparing the drive against the competition leads to Seagate coming out on top. The company offers great value for what you get in return. Solid endurance will mean you can use these drives for many years to come."
This internal SSD has read/write speeds of 3450 and 3200 MB/s respectively. That's a huge upgrade over regular SATA-based SSDs, regular M.2 SSDs, and even other NVMe drives. Those write speeds are going to feel real good when you're installing new games, programs, or other large files. And you won't mind shutting your computer down for updates and things like that since it will only take a few seconds to boot up if you install your operating system to this drive.
If you're a big gamer or you work with large portions of media like a photographer or video editor, you need an SSD with this sort of stamina. Not only is it super fast, it's designed to handle the heavy workloads of top-tier computers. Plus, with 1.8 million hours MTBF (mean time between failures), it's going to last a long, long time.
You can customize and check on the drive with Seagate's SeaTools software. It's a program that lets you check on the health of your new drive, partition it, update the firmware, and more. It's easy to use and perfect for users who don't want to dig too deep into their systems but still want to keep the drives healthy.
Seagate backs this up with a five-year warranty.
