- OnePlus is expected to announce its first true wireless earbuds alongside the OnePlus Nord on July 21.
Last week, OnePlus announced that the OnePlus Nord will be unveiled at an AR launch event on July 21. Rumors, however, suggest the OnePlus Nord will not be the only new product to be unveiled at the event. Alongside the mid-range 5G smartphone, OnePlus is also expected to unveil its first truly wireless earbuds. The upcoming earbuds, rumored to be called the OnePlus Buds, have now been spotted on the website of Finland's SGS Fimko certification body (via MySmartPrice.
The OnePlus Buds have been listed on the SGS Fimko website with the model number E501A. While the listing doesn't include any images of the earbuds or their charging case, it does reveal that the charging case will support 7.5W charging speeds. Unfortunately, however, the rest of the features and specs of the OnePlus Buds remain a mystery at this point.
The official name of the true wireless earbuds, hasn't been confirmed either. While the Android 11 beta for the OnePlus 8 series phones revealed the name OnePlus Pods, leaker Max J claims they will instead debut as OnePlud Buds.
A sketch of the upcoming earbuds shared by the leaker last month showed the earbuds feature an in-ear design with a metallic finish at the back, similar to the Bullets Wireless 2 and Bullets Wireless Z earphones. As for color choices, the OnePlus Buds are expected to be available in Black and White variants.
