Google announced today that Nexus Protect, its additional bit of insurance for the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, is now available in Canada. When the service launched, it was only available to buyers in the U.S., so we're making progress, at least.
To recap, Nexus Protect extends accidental damage and device malfunction coverage an extra year on top of the 1-year manufacturer's warranty. The service costs $69 for the Nexus 5X and $89 for the Nexus 6P, and covers up to 2 incidents of accidental damage over the 2-year period. Finally, there's a $79 deductible attached to each claim.
So, if you happen to call the great white north home, you can now pick up a bit of extra protection for your new Nexus at the Google Store.
