Mpow may not be the first name that comes to mind for most folks when thinking of headphone brands, but the company is one of the most popular on Amazon for its low-cost yet high-quality options. From its great true wireless earbuds with the X3 to the long-standing 059, Mpow knows how to make some good audio products. With the newer and similarly priced H7 as another choice from Mpow, it can make choosing difficult. Hopefully, we can help you with your decision.
Should you buy the Mpow H7 or the Mpow 059?
At first glance, these two Bluetooth headphones have a lot in common in terms of the features offered. However, there are slight differences inside as well as not so subtle outside differences to separate the two. With the Mpow 059 being on the scene since 2016, its design is starting to show some cracks — mostly figuratively. Though the H7 is no spring chicken, it's been available since 2018, so it has a more contemporary design that offers some benefits beyond just style.

On the outside, both the Mpow 059 and H7 are made of plastic with physical buttons for controlling the audio. You can find the H7 in four colorways, while the 059 headphones are available in a staggering eight color combos! It's not often that we find a product with so many choices to pick from.
You'll also see that the finish of the plastics is different too. The Mpow 059 has a more dated, glossy finish to the plastic, which also makes it prone to fingerprints and smudges. The other big difference is that the buttons for your audio controls are flat on the right earpiece. While this gives a more sleek appearance, it also makes finding the button you need more difficult. The H7 opts for a matte finish to the plastic as well as having raised, more tactile buttons on the ridge of the earpiece. This button choice makes finding them much more manageable.
Let's move on to how these two headphones actually sound and what features are there. Each offers 40mm drivers for sound, which is better than one might expect from headphones that cost as little as these do. They also both have a CSR chip that Mpow says "provides more stable and faster transmission with less power consumption." Should you not want to use up the battery with wireless listening, or should your battery die, each also offers a 3.5mm audio jack for wired listening.

Speaking of battery, both have a long-lasting battery with the H7 coming in at 18 hours and the 059 edging out a win with 20 hours. However, the Mpow 059 does also offers a quick charge option that boasts two hours of listening in only 10 minutes of charging.
Which should you buy?
There are a lot of great Bluetooth wireless headphones out there, but a lot of them cost hundreds of dollars. The great thing about these two options is how little they cost for what you get.
While style is subjective, the dated glossy finish of the Mpow 059 is a pain to keep clean and also has some durability questions. Both the H7 and 059 headphones offer nearly identical listening experiences, but the usability of the H7 is much better. The more accessible and easier to use button layout on the Mpow H7 goes a long way to the overall enjoyment. While the 059 do have slightly better battery life, and a quick charge option, the winner here is the Mpow H7.
