LG's new self-cleaning true wireless earbuds are coming to the U.S. next month
What you need to know
- LG has unveiled two new true wireless earbuds with Meridian Audio technology.
- The higher-end HBS-FN6 earbuds feature a UVnano case, which is capable of killing bacteria and germs on the earbuds.
- Both new TONE earbuds are set to go on sale in the U.S. and Europe next month.
LG has introduced two new TONE Free true wireless earbuds that promise to deliver "an exceptional listening experience" and are packed with several useful features.
The new HBS-FN6 and HBS-FN4 true wireless earbuds boast HSP (Headphone Spatial Processing) technology from Median, which is claimed to simulate the experience of listening to real loudspeakers. They also come with an Ambient Sound Mode, which lets users hear sounds around them with a press of a button.
The higher-end HBS-FN6 comes includes the company's UVnano charging case, which can keep the earbuds clean by eliminating bacteria and germs while they are charged, with the help of built-in ultraviolet light. However, they aren't the first true wireless earbuds to offer this feature. Philips launched its first true wireless earbuds with UV cleaning technology in the U.S. earlier this year. LG too had launched wireless earbuds with the self-cleaning feature in its home market last year.
LG's latest true wireless earbuds are rated IPX4 for water resistance and also offer voice access to Google Assistant on Android devices. As for battery life, LG claims the earbuds provide up to 6 hours of continuous music playback. The charging case can provide three full charges, which means you can enjoy uninterrupted playback for up to 18 hours.
LG says both its new TONE Free earbuds will be going on sale in the U.S. and key European markets starting next month. However, the company hasn't revealed exactly how much the earbuds will cost yet.
