Lenovo's new Vibe K5 Plus may not get too many of us excited here in Western markets, but for those in emerging areas of India and China, this budget phone brings a lot to the table for just $149. For the price you're getting a nice-looking 5-inch 1920x1080 display, powered by a Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, with a removable 2750 mAh battery. You're also getting a 13MP rear camera, and 5MP front-facer.
The Vibe K5 Plus is actually built on an aluminum case, but brings a lot of faux metals coverings as well — but at this price that's expected and they actually feel pretty nice either way. On the software side Lenovo continues to streamline its interface, and there really aren't many functional changes from stock Android — just some visual tweaks and the inclusion of Dolby Atmos sound software. The only problem here is we're looking at Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
For those on an even tighter budget, a plain Vibe K5 will also be available — at $129 it drops to an HD display and Snapdragon 415 processor. Expect to see these phones hit markets where Lenovo phones are currently sold.
