The Last of Us Part 2: Best weapons to upgrade
In The Last of Us Part 2, there's a variety of weapons at your disposal and upgrading them with weapon parts allows you to increase your lethality and efficiency. With that said, you'll find weapon parts over the course of Ellie's travels and some weapons are far more useful when upgraded than others are. Here's our take on the best weapons to upgrade in The Last of Us Part 2.
Best weapons to upgrade in The Last of Us Part 2
You'll acquire upgrades by finding weapon parts and using them at a workbench.
Overall, two weapons you'll to prioritize in upgrading are the rifle and the revolver. Both can be improved with new barrels to deal more damage, while the pistol, revolver, and bow cannot. After improving their damage, you should also make sure to upgrade the rifle with a 6x scope. This allows you to pick off foes at range with more accuracy.
Once you've acquired those upgrades, the rifle, shotgun and pistol can all be improved to hold more ammunition. Reloading at the right time can be the difference between life and death, so be sure to snag those improvements as well.
Whatever you do, always double-check before upgrading, as most upgrades take a lot of weapon parts and you can't improve everything in a single playthrough. If you want to fully upgrade every weapon, you'll need to go through again on New Game Plus.
The Last of Us Part 2 has brutal combat
The Last of Us Part 2 tells the next chapter in Ellie and Joel's story, with an upgraded combat system allowing more options than ever.
