Update: It looks like WhatsApp service is back online after a couple of hours of disruption.

Original story: As different regions around the world begin to celebrate the arrival of 2016, there are signs that popular messaging platform WhatsApp may be struggling to keep up with demand. Countless Twitter users are reporting that WhatsApp is failing to deliver messages, and we're seeing issues on our end as well.

So sit tight: It's not just you. And if previous messaging outages are any indicator, server wizards will be working to ensure things are up and running as soon as possible.
