HTC Wildfire S ROM and system dump appear online
Yet another upcoming phone has had its software internals laid bare over on XDA. A recent forum thread on the site links to a pre-release ROM for the HTC Wildfire S, as well as a system dump extracted from that ROM. These leaked files give developers access to a potent combination of Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread and HTC Sense 2.1, and some are already working on ways of porting this back to earlier HTC phones. In particular this might help out owners of the original HTC Wildfire, which has been left off the list of older HTC devices due to receive an official Gingerbread update.
The HTC Wildfire S is due to appear in Europe and Asia during the second quarter of the year. Check out our hands-on coverage to learn more. [XDA]
