After being postponed as a result of the pandemic, the 2020 MotoGP season is set to kick off this weekend with the Gran Premio Red Bull de España and we have all the details on how you can watch the race on TV or online.

This Sunday's race will be the first of 17 races that are set to take place between July and December of this year as MotoGP makes up for lost time. Thirteen of these races will be held in Europe in Spain, Italy, Austria, France and the Czech republic while the remaining three will be held in Argentina, Thailand and Malaysia, travel restrictions permitting. The Gran Premio Red Bull de España will be held at the Circuito de Jerez in Spain's Andalusia region. The track has 13 turns, a circuit length of 2.751 miles and the race will consist of 27 laps. Based on past races at the Circuito de Jerez, it will take riders just over forty minutes to complete all 27 laps. Repsol Honda's Marc Márquez currently holds the fastest lap record on the course with a time of one minute and thirty eight seconds on lap 15. He also finished first place in the 2019 Gran Premio Red Bull de España.

For the 2020 MotoGP season, there have been a few changes to the rules with the most significant being that riders will be penalized for jump starting on the grid. If a rider does this, they will be punished by having to take two long laps around the course which could shave between three to five seconds off of their time per lap.
