Our top equipment picks
Alexa's favorite smart plug.
Amazon's first foray into the smart plug market is nearly a home-run. It works beautifully with Alexa, setup takes just a few seconds, and it blends seamlessly into the background. We just wish it also worked with Google Assistant.
If you're invested in Alexa speakers, the Amazon Smart Plug just makes sense over any of its competitors. The sheer simplicity of getting it connected to your home Wi-Fi network and smart speakers is a breeze, and from there, you're left with a trusty and good-looking plug for your house.
One of the best smart speakers for $50.
Not only is the Echo Dot insanely affordable, but it's also just a darn good smart speaker. It sounds great for its size, has a pretty fabric design, and works beautifully with other Alexa gadgets.
Any smart speaker that's powered by Alexa will work well with the Amazon Smart Plug, but the Echo Dot stands out among nearly everything else thanks to its tremendous bang-for-your-buck.
