The Mackie CR3 are the sort of speakers that hit a great sweet spot between cost and sound. You could spend a lot more money for much better speakers, but you won't find this quality of sound at a cheaper price. Especially not with this deal. They really separate themselves from the pack when they go on sale like this.
They use a studio-quality design for sound and performance that's ideal for multimedia creation. The ultra-wide frequency range of 80 Hz to 20 kHz is perfect for full-range media. You can choose which side of the desk gets the volume knob thanks to the CR3's speaker placement switch. Plus, they are compact so they won't take up a lot of space. You'll still be able to fit a monitor or two in the same spot at the back of your desktop. I know because I currently have a pair of CR3s book-ending my dual-monitor setup, and I think it looks great. Of course I have the gold trim because I'm fancy (or because those were the ones on sale when I originally bought them), but blue looks good, too!
The front panel includes a lit power ring, volume control, and a jack for plugging in your smartphone or headphones. Depending on your setup, having that jack right there to plug into could be super convenient, too. You can use the jack like an input for a mobile device or something like that, too, if you want to add some powerful sound to the device you're streaming from.
