Google highlights new security features in Android 5.0 Lollipop

Google has highlighted some of the new security features in Android 5.0 Lollipop. New features given the spotlight by Google include Smart Lock, device encryption, and SELinux.

Smart Lock is all about making your phone more secure while still making it quick and easy to open. You can tell your phone to open when paired with a specific Bluetooth or NFC device, and face unlock has also been enhanced. You can also choose to only allow select notifications on the lock screen.

Lollipop also has enhanced device encryption. This protects your device with a unique key, stored only on your device, from your first start up. SELinux has also been enhanced with SELinus Enforcing mode, which is required for all applications on all of your devices.

What do you think of the new security measures in Android 5.0? Leave your thoughts with us in the comments.
