Gameloft optimizes two titles and preloads them on the Archos Gamepad2

Asphalt 8: Airborne and Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour optimized to work with the dedicated gaming controls

App publisher Gameloft has sent out a memo to let us all know that they have two special titles for folks buying the Archos Gamepad 2. Asphalt 8: Airborne and Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour have both been optimized for the Gamepad 2 controls, and will be bundled on the tablet as part of the original firmware.

The applications have been tweaked to work with the new tablet's dedicated gaming buttons, and as we've seen on devices like the Nvidia Shield, this can make for a world of difference and deliver games that are more fun to play.

Users will still have the option of installing the original versions from Google Play, but we can't imagine why anyone would want to replace the versions built specifically for the hardware with more generic options. We'll have the answers at the end of the month when the tablet slash gaming console goes up for sale. Hit the break for the deliciously short and succinct press release.

Critically Acclaimed Asphalt 8: Airborne and Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour preloaded on new ARCHOS platform

Paris, October 9, 2013: Gameloft, a leading global publisher of digital and social games, today announced a partnership with ARCHOS to optimize Gameloft's hit titles Asphalt 8: Airborne and Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour for the new Android tablet, ARCHOS GamePad 2.

The new ARCHOS GamePad 2 brings dedicated gaming buttons to a powerful Android tablet, providing a portable console-like gaming experience to video game users worldwide.

Hit games Asphalt 8: Airborne and Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour will come preloaded on the ARCHOS GamePad 2 for free. Users will also have the option of downloading other Gameloft games via Google Play.

"With a tablet that's as innovative as the ARCHOS GamePad 2, it was an easy decision to optimize our games for the platform," said Cyril Guilleminot, Gameloft Director for France & Benelux. "Users will be able to take part in a brand new gaming experience with its integrated physical control system."

“Following the success of the GamePad 1, we knew that we could take the gaming-tablet concept further. With our GamePad 2 we have included an HD screen, better controls, a larger battery and a faster processor,” said Loic Poirier, ARCHOS CEO. “We're also excited to be working with a leading games company like Gameloft to pre-install two visually stunning titles for an amazing gaming experience."
