Fleksy Messenger app for Samsung Gear smartwatch also receives big update
SAN FRANCISCO — July 10, 2014 — Fleksy, the award-winning smart keyboard company, has launched a major update to its Android beta today, featuring support for 15 new languages, and significant accuracy improvements for all supported languages which now exceed 35 in total.
Amongst the newly launched languages are beta modules for Norwegian, Catalan, Hebrew, Croatian and Romanian, currently some of the most requested languages by the Fleksy user community. Several language variants, including English (UK), Brazilian Portuguese, French Canadian and Latin American Spanish have also been added.
The news comes following Fleksy's announcement in April that it is targeting the international market for growth, and is part of the popular keyboard's much anticipated iOS 8 launch. The company is expected to rapidly update its beta languages and release additional ones, with Arabic expected to be in its next release batch.
"Today's update represents a major, cross-platform engineering milestone for us. We are excited to confirm that are on schedule to support a total of over 40 languages, for both Android and iOS, out of beta by this fall" said Kosta Eleftheriou, Founder and CEO of Fleksy.
Fleksy also released its first update to its recently launched Fleksy Messenger app for the Samsung Gear smartwatch today. The update features numerous bug fixes and improvements, and also adds support for numerous Gear 1 devices running Tizen. "We've been amazed at the positive reception Fleksy Messenger is receiving in the Gear community. We are already one of the top apps on the platform, and user reviews speak for themselves when it comes for Fleksy's accuracy on a small screen" said Ioannis Verdelis, Founder and COO of Fleksy. "We are proud to be the leaders in the wearables text input market, and can't wait to show what we have in store as the wearable technology market expands"
