Fastest way to earn coins in Anthem
Best answer: In short, you gain coins by completing missions and playing the game. You can earn coins fast by completing the toughest missions, doing the daily and weekly trials, and using alliance bonuses with all your friends to get rich at the end of each week.
- Microsoft: Anthem Standard Edition ($60)
- Amazon: Anthem: Legion of Dawn Edition ($80)
What are coins?
Coins are one of Anthem's two in-game currencies. These are the ones you can earn while playing (more on this later) and is the canonical money system for the world's characters.
Coins are used to purchase in-game appearance upgrades such as paints, vinyls, and armor packs but also emotes and crafting materials for blueprints. You can make purchases in the store in-game, which you can access via the settings menu under the Featured tab, by speaking with merchant NPCs, or by entering the Forge and buying items while crafting.
The other currency is shards, which you can only get by exchanging real-world money. This is obviously the fastest way to get enough in-game to buy upgrades, but if you don't want to spend your hard-earned cash, there is another way.
Complete missions
There are numerous ways to earn coins in Anthem, but you want to do it quickly and get all the good loot. You gain coins just by completing missions, whether it's story missions or freeplay challenges. In the beginning of the game, you'll find yourself overrun with coins, but that feeling will dissapate as you move forward.

To make sure you're swimming in coin like Scrooge McDuck, you'll need to focus on a few specific missions.
The first is through daily, weekly, and monthly trials. If you visit Lucky Jak at the Fort Tarsis hub (he's standing behind a table with some hourglasses on it), or by accessing the Challenges tab in your Journal and going to the Path of Glory section. This usually entails completing feats or a certain number of missions.
As expected, completing daily trials net you less coin than weekly ones (monthly trials, as of this writing, reward you with rare crafting materials, but not coins).
Second, there are separate challenges that you can complete by finishing in-game quests. You can access these in the same area with the trials and they'll also net you some coins and loot.
You can also gain coins by completing open-world Freeplay quests, which can also net you loot. The harder the challenge, the more coin and loot you'll get. These quests will only take 20 minutes at most, so completing more per day will net you more coin.
Use the Alliance system
Anthem also has a built-in passive system that rewards you for friending people. EA encourages people to play with others, but it's not necessary to play with specific people. As long as you're friends in-game, you should see some coin each week.
Having friends grants you a x5.00 Friend Bonus for each friend and the more they play, the more coin you'll get. Each week, the game will populate your top five most active friends on the ladder, so friends that might not play a lot can get filtered out. The more you and your friends play, the more rewards you'll wrack up.
If you don't have enough friends, the game will fill one of these five slots with ally contributions — or the people you are randomly queued up with. Like with friends, the more you play with certain people, the higher your tier, which rewards you more coins.
As of this writing, the weekly ladder resets on Mondays at 7 p.m. EST.

BioWare's newest game is its first open-world MMO, and as such, requires you to put in more play time to get more rewards. There's plenty to do in Anthem, including completing the story and exploring the world and doing those missions.
