There are plenty of cute, and animated Watch Faces for Android Wear these days. Few however are quite as cute as walking around with an animated scooter telling the time on your wrist. Watch Face: Scooter on Android Wear is a great, simple watch face that gets you the details at a glance. It's currently free on the Google Play Store and great for anybody who wants a change of pace, without having to thumb through options to find a balance that's pleasing to the eye.
The Watch Face: Scooter rocks a circular face that was -according to the creator- designed to look good on square faces. The theme of the watch face is all automobile, or rather, scooter related. A blue riderless scooter rides in a wide circle near the edges of the face to tick off seconds. In the upper middle of the screen is a gauge which looks like a fuel gauge from a car, and contains the time and date. Below and to the right is an old fashioned gas pump, bright red, with your current battery displayed on it's right. At each corner there is a small screw, adding to the overall look of the watch face.
That look, is a very cute 1950s retro look. From the style and color of the scooter that rotates around the screen, with little puffs of exhaust trailing it, to the battery indicator icon. It works very well without going overboard. The gauge that dominates the middle of the screen displays the time to left, and the date to the right. The date format displays as the day and then below that the abbreviated month. The time displays on a 24-hour format, and it looks like it's on a dial, and always easy to read. That includes when your Watch is in ambient mode. You lose the gas pump battery icon, and the moped animation, but the time, date and battery are all still clear, stylish and easy to read.

There aren't any options for the Watch Face: Scooter. That's right, none. Nothing to adjust or tweak, which means that it's easy to tell at a glance if this is going to be a watch face for you. While there aren't any options it's prudent to mention that everything the Watch Face: Scooter does, it does well and with a certain retro flair. Where the options would normally be on your Watch, there is an about page where the creator will walk explain the date, time and battery readouts.
The Watch Face: Scooter is available now on the Google Play Store, and it's absolutely free.
