Update: Tomorrow's the big day! Disney+ is raising its price in many countries around the world starting on February 23. Make sure to sign up for an annual membership today to take advantage of the current low price before it disappears forever!

After spending more than a year at its debut price, Disney+ will see its monthly and annual subscription prices rise for the very first time beginning in select countries on February 23. This move comes as the service unveils the 'Star on Disney+' section of the site in many regions which incorporates content from Disney Television Studios, 20th Century Studios, 20th Television, ABC, Searchlight Pictures, and more.

Star on Disney+ won't be coming to the United States, as much of the content is already available to stream on Hulu. However, viewers in the United States will also see a Disney+ price increase come late March. If you're not a subscriber yet or if you want to take advantage of the low price while you still can, signing up for an annual membership right now allows you to lock in the current low price for 12 months.

Along with the iconic Disney movies and animated films we've all come to know and love, Disney+ includes a wide selection of shows and films from the Disney Channel, Marvel Studios, Star Wars, and National Geographic, as well as the entire slate of Pixar feature films like Finding Nemo, Toy Story, and the recently-released Soul. There are also original shows and films you can't watch anywhere else, like The Mandalorian and Hamilton. Your subscription unlocks the ability to stream even when you're away from home; just download the Disney+ app on your smartphone or tablet to begin watching wherever you go.

UK-based readers have the greatest incentive to sign up before the price increase. Even if you select the monthly subscription plan at £5.99 per month, Disney+ allows you to lock in that low price through August 23. Alternatively, signing up for an annual subscription plan helps you save a bit more on the cost for an even longer period of time.

In the U.S., the Disney+ / Hulu / ESPN+ bundle subscription will also see a price increase by $1 from $12.99 to $13.99 per month for the Limited Commercials plan and from $17.99 to $18.99 per month for the No Commercials plan. However, U.S. customers won't see a price increase for Disney+ or these bundled plans until March 26.
