The company first announced the update back in December, but for unspecified reasons delayed the rollout until January. The first One A9 model to receive Android 6.0.1 was on Sprint, which came in late January.
The update details are as follows:

- Battery life improvements
- Camera feature improvements
- Addition of Wi-Fi Calling Functionality
- System enhancements
Users should be able to pull the update down to their smartphones by heading to Settings >System updates >HTC software update >Check now.
