Can you use the Samsung Galaxy Buds with an iPhone?
Best answer: Unfortunately, you won't be able to use the Samsung Galaxy Buds with your iPhone. The wireless earbuds require an Android phone running Android 5.0 or higher in order to use. If you want truly wireless earphones that pair seamlessly to your Apple devices, you'll need to get a pair of AirPods.
- Samsung: Samsung Galaxy Buds ($130)
- Apple: Apple AirPods ($160)
The Galaxy Buds seem like great earbuds...for Android users
According to Samsung's official spec sheet for the Galaxy Buds, you'll need a Samsung or other Android device running Android 5.0 or later. That device will also need at least 1.5GB of RAM. So, unfortunately, you're out of luck if you wanted to use these buds with an iPhone.
So just what are the Samsung Galaxy Buds, anyway?
Samsung's freshly-announced Galaxy Buds are clearly the company's answer to Apple's AirPods. Flip open the Galaxy Buds' included charging case and you'll see a card pop up on your nearby Android device. Tap Pair and the earbuds will quickly connect. You can switch the buds seamlessly between your Galaxy devices as needed.
If you're an AirPods owner, this should sound very familiar. If you're an AirPods and iPhone owner who was hoping to try out the Galaxy Buds with your iPhone, then sadly, you're out of luck.
Samsung worked with AKG to create the Galaxy Buds in an effort to deliver excellent sound quality in a tiny package. The Galaxy Buds feature dual microphones to keep background noise at bay, meaning you'll always be able to hear whatever you're listening to, and your voice should be clear during calls no matter your environment. The Galaxy Buds also have a feature that let you hear the world around you clearly without requiring you to remove the buds.

Finally, there's battery and charging. The Galaxy Buds feature up to six hours of audio playback, after which you can place them in the included charging case, the Cradle, to charge. The Cradle itself can be charged either via USB-C or Qi wireless charging.
If you're an iPhone owner, AirPods are still probably your best bet
While the Galaxy Buds won't work with your iPhone, you can always pick up a pair of AirPods, which will pair painlessly with all of your Apple devices and will provide you with up to five hours of audio playback.
Samsung's answer to Apple's AirPods are Android-only
Samsung's latest wireless earbuds work a lot like AirPods, with seamless pairing and easy switching in between devices, and they come in a small selection of colors. Unfortunately, they're also Android-only.
