Bundle the Ring Video Doorbell 2 and Ring Chime for $99 refurbished

Amazon has combined two certified refurbished products, the Ring Video Doorbell 2 with the Ring Chime, in a bundle that costs just $99 total. Brand new, this combination would set you back about $230 as the Ring Video Doorbell 2 goes for $199.99 and the Chime goes for $29.99.

Even though both devices are refurbished, Amazon promises they have been tested and certified to look and work like new. And they will come with the same warranty as new devices. That's a good sign that Amazon has confidence in how well these will work for you.

The Video Doorbell 2 comes with a rechargeable battery pack. That makes it significantly easier to install, especially if you want to place it somewhere you can't hardwire it. Of course, that's also risky if it runs out of juice when you need it. You can hardwire install it if you want or upgrade to the Ring Video Doorbell Pro, which is also on sale refurbished for $149.

The video doorbell pairs with the Echo Dot, which is on sale for $39.99, fairly smoothly. Use Alexa to turn the light on or send announcements to your Echo devices when the doorbell is pressed or motion is detected. You can use your Echo device to hear and speak to visitors, too. With the video doorbell you'll record video in 1080p and be able to watch that video anywhere using your phone and Live View on-demand video and audio. Get mobile alerts, too.

The Chime can be plugged into any standard power outlet and helps you to get alerts from your doorbell and Ring devices anywhere in the house. It's pretty easy to use, too, since all you have to do is plug it in and connect it to Wi-Fi and link it to your Ring doorbell. You can also set it up with a Do Not Disturb function that will disable alerts during specific times.
