What you need to know
- Android 11 Beta 1.5 is now available for all Pixel devices, excluding the original Pixel and Pixel XL.
- This update sorts out a previous issue many Beta users encountered with contactless payments in Google Pay.
- Users can manually flash Beta 1.5, or sign up for the Android Beta Program to receive it over the air.
One week after the first Android 11 Beta was made available, Google has rolled out an updated version 1.5 that brings fixes for some of the bugs we encountered with the initial build.
Most notably, Google Pay is now fully functional in Beta 1.5, after a number of users were unable to set up payment methods before. Beta 1.5 also addresses an issue that caused Pixel devices to reboot when using gesture navigation to switch apps in different orientations, and sorts out an eSIM issue on Pixel 3 and 3a devices.
The factory image is now live on the Android Developers page for Pixel 2, 3, 3a, and 4 devices, as well as the Android Flash Tool. You can also sign up for the Android Beta Program to receive an over-the-air update to Android 11 Beta 1.5 on your Pixel device.
