The Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet is too good to be true at just $99 for Cyber Monday
One gadget that gets discounted and promoted a lot this time of year are tablets. There are some genuinely great deals like the Samsung Galaxy Tab A, and then you've got other options from random, unknown brands that are likely to break after just a couple weeks of use. If you're shopping around for a tablet, only have a hundred dollars to spend, and want something that you can rely on for years to come, we highly recommend looking at the Amazon Fire HD 10.
The Fire HD 10 is Amazon's largest and most powerful tablet in its lineup, and while it's already pretty affordable with a retail price of $149.99, you can pick one up right now for only $99.99. You may not think $100 buys much for a tablet, but the Fire HD 10 punches way above its low asking price.
As the name suggests, the Fire HD 10 has a 10.1-inch 1920 x 1200 display that looks great for watching movies, playing games, and browsing the web. To further enhance your media consumption, Amazon also outfitted the tablet with stereo Dolby speakers that provide seriously powerful audio. On the technical side of things, there's a 1.8GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, offering enough horsepower for just about every app and game you can download.
The $100 model comes equipped with 32GB of internal storage, or you can step up to the 64GB model that's also discounted to just $120. Alternatively, you can pick up a microSD card and expand your storage that way up to a whopping 256GB.
The Fire HD 10 is technically powered by Android, but it runs a custom software interface designed by Amazon itself. The software places a big emphasis on various Amazon services, such as online shopping, Prime Video, Kindle books, etc. It's not for everyone, but if you want something that's easy to use or already spend a lot of time within Amazon's garden, it's a great fit.
That's all pretty great stuff on its own, but the Fire HD 10 goes above and beyond in a couple exciting ways.
Alexa is built right into the tablet, meaning you can say "Alexa" at any time to get its attention on the Fire HD 10 to ask about the weather, find a show on Prime Video, stream music, and everything else you use Alexa for. If you want to go a step further, Amazon also offers something called its "Show Mode Charging Dock" that essentially turns the Fire HD 10 into a makeshift Echo Show for $145 (a bundle that includes the dock and the tablet).
Add that together with three available colors (Black, Marine Blue, and Punch Red), and you'll be hard-pressed to find a better tablet deal this Black Friday.
