RemoteDroid Allows You to Use G1 as a Wireles Keyboard & Mouse
Chalk this up in the nifty column! RemoteDroid, an app in the Android Market, allows the T-Mobile G1 to become a wireless mouse & keyboard combination for your computer. The way it works is that it communicates through WiFi–check out the video to see some pretty cool implementation.
You can use the touchscreen and trackball to scroll around, the keyboard is fully functional–it’s really great to see developers have their turn at the T-Mobile G1 and create unique apps for it. Check out the video to see how this app works!

Android Can Open Garage Doors Now, WHAT!?
Not only is Android a great open platform that very well may be the future of smartphones. Not only does Android intertwine Google’s Services so well. Android can now open garage doors. I mean it’s an obvious conclusion right? Android and a Garage Door Opener goes about as good as Android and Gmail or Android and the Market.
All jokes aside, Brad Fitzpatrick is the one who hacked Android into doing the simple garage door opening task. The G1 uses Wi-Fi to fire up an HTTP request to his home server which in turn tells the garage door to open. Neat huh? Leave your keys and garage door at home folks, the G1 can do it all. Even better, in true Android fashion Brad released the source code.
What’s next? What task would be ridiculous to see Android and the G1 do?

Official: Amazon MP3 Store Preloaded On T-Mobile G1
Anything you can do, I can do better. That can very well be the motto for Android and the T-Mobile G1 towards the iPhone. You have a single, closed, make-it-yourself phone? We’ll have hundreds of phones and our OS is open. An app store that requires a screening process? We have a market where anyone can sell. iTunes Wi-Fi Store? Well, we’ll just partner up with the Amazon MP3 Store to offer our users DRM-Free Music directly from their T-Mobile G1 [Via Engadget].
Including an over-the-air option to download music is a key bullet point to hit with consumers. Choosing Amazon MP3, which we at AndroidCentral believe is a great music portal on par with the iTunes Store, makes it even better. 6 million DRM-free songs will be available to you once you get your T-Mobile G1. Songs are $0.89 and albums range $5.99-$9.99 and it will require Wi-Fi.
If good news like this is coming in today, we won’t be able to contain ourselves.

The model number is listed as DREA100 and it looks to have all the typical goodies- 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/1900 and WCDMA 1700.
