Sony shutting down PlayStation Mobile later this year
Sony shut down PlayStation Mobile for Android late last year, announcing that devices on Android 5.0 would not be able to access the content store. The vendor is now shutting down the service in its entirety, with July 15th mentioned as the date for when content distribution will cease.
Users on PS Vita and PlayStation Certified devices will be able to re-download purchased content until September 10, after which that service will also be unavailable. With Sony consolidating its efforts to focus on profits, it is understandable that the manufacturer is closing initiatives that failed to gain momentum.
