Pinterest starts rolling out buyable pins on Android
Pinterest announced today that it has started rolling out buyable pins on Android, following up on their iOS launch earlier this year. In addition, the company has launched a new dedicated shopping section inside of the app to make finding products to buy much easier.
As far as buyable pins are concerned, you'll now see a blue price next to any item you can buy. Simply tap the "Buy It" option and you'll then be asked to enter your info and go through with the purchase. Pinterest will save your information after your first purchase, which means checkout should be faster afterwards.
The meat of today's Pinterest news, however, is the new Pinterest Shop. The Shop section will contain collections of products that are hand-picked by the Pinterest staff, including brands like Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, and small boutiques.
Pinterest says that both features are rolling out to Android starting today, so you should start to see buyable pins soon.
