Lenovo OPhone: More Pics & Details - O’ My!
Is this a hot little number or what? Move over, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition, and make room for a new hottie - the Lenovo OPhone from China. Our very own Casey Chan posted about the Lenovo some time back, and now more pictures (like the one above) and details have emerged compliments of living_sword at modmygphone.com.
The Lenovo OPhone sports a 5MP camera (!!!) with auto-focus and flash, microSD slot, virtual keyboard for input, voice recorder, and more. It’s China only, but hey, it would be fantastic if this sleek and beautiful design inspired some sleekness here in the States! Check out living_sword’s post for more pics!

Phoload Brings Android Support for Free Apps & Games
Phoload is a relatively new site that offers free games & applications to a multitude of mobile platforms — after today, we can now include Android. Phoload is unique because it offers a “community approach” to its applications and games. We’re not exactly sure what that means but it can only be a good thing since all the apps listed are free!
You can access their Android App Lineup either through www.phoload.com/android or if you’re surfing on your G1: www.phoload.com. Pretty simple, eh? The bigger picture with all this is that there may soon be too many avenues to get apps for Android — this could potentially lead to confusion among users especially if a popular app is available in only a few destinations. Hopefully downloading software for Android doesn’t get much harder than using Android Market..

Verizon: Don’t Buy The G1
This happens all the time in the mobile world. When a carrier releases a hotly anticipated phone, all the other carriers send out internal E-mails detailing why that phone is the worst phone in the world. This time it’s Verizon releasing notes about the G1. The reasons listed have all been known for a while now so it’s not that big of a deal in the G1’s case. However, it’s always fun to see multimillion dollar companies act like little children squabbling over the most insignificant of details.
For example, how dare the G1 limit music to over-the-air downloads over Wi-Fi only! Shame on them!

Motorola Cutting Jobs, Focusing On Android
We love Motorola here at Android Central, we really do. So it’s sad for us to report that Motorola is planning to cut more jobs in an effort to cut costs and, well, make a buck in these tough economic times. According to sources who spoke to the WSJ, cuts are reportedly going to number in the thousands. Along with the job cuts, Motorola will “scrap dozens of phone designs” and focus on only a few projects.
Namely, Android.
We were half-kidding before that Motorola desperately needs Android to succeed and that their first Android device will be their last-ditch effort at survival. We’re not kidding anymore. Whenever that Motorola Android phone comes out, it needs to be a hit or the Motorola we know and love will no longer be around. Make us proud Moto.
Dvorak tired of trolling Apple, goes for Android
It’s not just a coincidence that “Cranky” is prominent on the screen behind Mr. John Dvorak, a writer/”tech pundit” and self-admitted Mac troller. Apparently Mr. Dvorak has had enough of new technology, more specifically smartphones, and the release of the G1 Android phone through T-Mobile is the icing on his gadget-hating-smartphone-cynic cake.
It’s almost embarrassing to point out the glaring irony that Mr. Dvorak butters his bread at the table of a fast-moving industry with a new gadget around every corner. After all, he has admitted to trolling Apple users in a likely effort to create controversy and increase traffic to his column. Although this blog may be serving the same end, it’s worth the entertainment value.
Is Dvorak truly tired of Apple’s iPhone and is he channeling his Cranky energy for merciless rants against all things Android? Is Android just another fad, or will it have staying power?
