NEW YORK (April 23, 2015) Acer today introduces its new Acer Iconia Tab 10 for Education, an Android 5.0 tablet that enables digital education in schools. Designed with the classroom environment in mind, the Acer Iconia Tab 10 has a durable, comfortable design, a 10-inch full HD Gorilla® Glass 4 display, and Acer Precision Plus make learning mobile and enjoyable. Acer is working with Google to join the Google Education ecosystem, bringing accessible technology and richer resources to classrooms.

"The Acer Iconia Tab 10 for Education is an excellent choice for districts rolling out new technology throughout their entire school for 1:1 initiatives or even for a single mobile lab. The durable design, full HD display and interactive features will help make learning more creative and collaborative."

Designed for the education environment, the Acer Iconia Tab 10 is durable, as it stands up to heavy-use schools and classrooms. The reinforced front frame withstands bending and twisting, while minerals are added to the rear cover to increase toughness. Plus, the anti-slip textured finish is comfortable to hold and helps students keep a firm grip on the tablet.
Even the 10.1-inch display is more durable thanks to Corning® Gorilla® Glass 4 that is damage and scratch-resistant. The anti-fingerprint coating keeps the display clean and reduces smudges. The 10.1-inch 1920x1200 resolution Full HD display has Zero Air Gap technology for brighter images and better visibility in sunlight, so students can take it outdoors for labs and experiments. Also, when it's time for reading, students can put their Iconia Tab 10 in Reading Mode to reduce the blue light emission by up to 60 percent for less eye strain.
The Iconia Tab 10 is durable while being light and portable, so it can be used both in the classroom and for outdoor activities. It weighs only 540 grams (1.19 pounds) and measures only 260w x 176d x 9.7h mm (10.26w x 6.93d x 0.38h inches).
The new tablet features Acer Precision Plus technology, which enables more varied and accurate content creation. Tablets with Acer Precision Plus have touch sensors that are more densely placed than those with general touch panels, and enable students to write, draw and create with pencil or stylus in a finer tip at just 2mm. This extra precision also lets students pinpoint anything on the display with greater accuracy and experience fewer mistakes.
The Iconia Tab 10 has NFC built in with setup and sharing capabilities. Teachers or IT administrations can set up a whole classroom of tablets in minutes simply by tapping them together. It features Acer's Iconia Suite of creativity and touch tools that let students simplify tasks and get quick access to frequently-used apps with intuitive touch gestures. The Iconia Suite includes note-taking app EZ Note, screenshot capture app EZ Snap, gesture wake-up app EZ WakeUp, and the EZ Gadget widget for quick access to essential tools.
Acer Iconia Tab 10 for Full School Day
